German Perez
Harding University
Class of 2010
Like most students, German Perez arrived at Harding University determined to make the most of the opportunity and land a good job in his native Honduras. Inspired by Walmart’s sustainability initiatives, Perez has since developed the desire to start his own recycling company, something he believes Honduras desperately needs. Never before had he envisioned himself as a business owner, but he’s pursuing that goal with complete confidence now.
"The confidence I’ve gained here has kind of pushed me to change what I saw for myself and what I can actually achieve." – German Perez
Anna Hernandez
University of the Ozarks
Class of 2013
Looking around in her native Honduras, Anna Hernandez clearly sees a need for change, particularly in the area of environmental stewardship. As a Walton International scholar, Hernandez is preparing herself to personally make a lasting difference in this area, majoring in both business and environmental studies. Both have always been passions of hers. Now she understands there’s a future in it – a future she can help lead.
